The NuMicro® M071 series is a 32-bit microcontroller based on Arm® Cortex®-M0 core, with the hardware divider, targeted for smart home appliance applications. For the growing requirements of safety functions on the home appliance, the M071 series provides certified Software Test Library (STL) and an application note for IEC60730-1 Class B Annex H. This certified STL can significantly reduce the development time and efforts to pass IEC60730-1 Class B certification for home appliances. The M071 series runs up to 50/72 MHz and features 2.5V to 5.5V wide operating voltage, -40°C to 105°C wide operating temperature, a variety of packages with wide pin pitch, and excellent high immunity characteristics by ESD HBM 8 kV and EFT 4.4 kV, which greatly meets the rigid requirements for stability, reliability and safety of home appliance systems.

As the new smart function added on home appliances, the M071 series offers up to 256 KB Flash memory for code storage, up to 20 KB SRAM for run time operation and configurable Data Flash memory for parameters. Additionally, in response to the code security requirements, the M071 series integrates 2 KB Security Protection ROM (SPROM) to provide a secure code execution area to protect the developer's intellectual property. The M071 series also supports online updates using In-System Programmer (ISP), In-Circuit Programmer (ICP) and In-Application Programmer (IAP). The In-System Programmer (ISP) with 4 KB Loder ROM (LDROM) supports the Firmware update Over-The-Air (FOTA) process. Besides, a Peripheral Direct Memory Access (PDMA) is provided to reduce the data access overhead of CPU core to peripherals.

The M071 series is equipped with plenty of peripherals, including one built-in temperature sensor with 1°C resolution, adjustable VDDIO pins to meet a wide voltage range from 1.8V to 5.5V, up to 12 channels of 16-bit 144 MHz high-speed PWM for precise control, 4 sets of UART, 1 set of SPI/I²S, 2 sets of I²C, and a real-time clock (RTC). The M071 series also provides rich analog peripherals including up to 20 channels of 12-bit ADC, up to 2 sets of ACMP, and integrates one set of USB 2.0 full speed device with on-chip PHY which supports crystal-less in device mode.

The M071 series offers multiple package choices that are designed for PCB demands of home appliance system.
