Nuvoton's ChipCorder® is a complete, single chip solution for voice, audio recording and playback. It is designed to offer the highest quality single-chip voice record/playback solutions for embedded applications. Non-volatile and highly integrated, they are ideal solutions for adding voice prompts, audio/sound feedback for touch buttons, alerts, interactive menus, and voice memos to consumer, industrial and security products. Available pre-recording services make it easy to add audio/voice to system design. The easily programmable devices also allow array of products to carry branding messages, enabling manufacturers to distinguish their products with high-quality digital playback of audio-grade sound alerts and corporate audio-logo clips. “Acoustic branding” has been embraced by a wide range of markets to build brand identity and distinctiveness, tapping into users’ powerful sense of sound and memory.

ISD2130
The ISD2130 is a digital ChipCorder® featuring digital compression, comprehensive memory management, flash storage, and integrated digital audio signal paths. This family utilizes flash memory to provide non-volatile audio playback with duration up to 30 seconds ( based on 8kHz/4bit ADPCM ) for a single-chip solution.
Unlike the MLS ChipCorder series, the ISD2130 provides higher sampling frequency and a higher SNR of 60dB.
The ISD2130 can take digital audio data via SPI interface. When SPI interface is chosen, the sample rate of the audio data sent must be one of the ISD2130 supported sample rates.
Built-in speaker driver output
Operating Voltage: 2.7-3.6V
Temperature Options:Industrial -40℃ to 85℃
ISD2360
The ISD2360 is a 3-channel digital ChipCorder® providing single-chip storage and playback of high quality audio. The device features digital de-compression, comprehensive memory management, flash storage, integrated audio signal path with up to 3 channel concurrent playback and Class D speaker driver capable of delivering power of 0.95W. This family utilizes flash memory to provide non-volatile audio playback with duration up to 64 seconds (based on 8 kHz/4bit ADPCM compression) for a single-chip audio playback solution.
The ISD2360 can be controlled and programmed through an SPI serial interface or operated stand-alone by triggers applied to the device’s six GPIO pins.
The ISD2360 requires no external clock sources or components except a speaker to deliver quality audio prompts or sound effects to enhance user interfaces. In addition the part can provide non-volatile flash storage in 1Kbyte sectors eliminating the need for additional serial EEPROM/Flash devices. Compared to previous ChipCorder series, this device provides higher sampling frequencies, improved SNR, lower power, fast programming time and integrated program verification.
Multi-channel: 3-channel mixing playback
1.0 W power at 5V
Support dynamic change on GPIO output while the chip is in playback
Operating Voltage: 2.4-5.5V
Package: green, QFN32 and SOP-16
Temperature Options: Industrial -40℃ to 85℃
I3800
The ISD3800 is a digital ChipCorder® featuring digital compression, comprehensive memory management, and integrated analog/digital audio signal paths. The ISD3800 utilizes serial flash memory to provide non-volatile audio playback for a two-chip solution. The ISD3800 provides an I²S digital audio interface, faster digital programming, higher sampling frequency, and a signal path with SNR 80dB.
The ISD3800 can take digital audio data via I²S or SPI interface. When I²S input is selected, it will replace the analog audio inputs and will support sample rates of 32, 44.1 or 48 kHz depending upon clock configuration. When SPI interface is chosen, the sample rate of the audio data sent must be one of the ISD3800 supported sample rates.
The ISD3800 has inbuilt analog audio inputs, analog audio line driver, and speaker driver output.
The analog audio input, Aux-in, has a fixed gain configured by SPI command. Aux-in can directly feed-through to the analog outputs; it can also mix with the DAC output and then feed-through to the analog outputs.
Analog outputs are available in two forms: (1) Aux-out is an analog single-ended voltage output; (2) Class-AB BTL (bridge-tied-load) is an analog differential voltage output. Class-AB BTL delivers 1-watt output power at V CCSPK = 5V.
Class-D PWM direct-drive is also available, which delivers 1-watt output power at V CCSPK = 5V
Operating Voltage: 2.7 ~ 5.5V
Standby Current: 1uA typical
Package:
Green 48L-LQFP
Temperature Options:
Industrial: -40℃ to 85℃
ISD3900
The ISD3900 is a multi-message ChipCorder® featuring digital compression, comprehensive memory management, and integrated analog/digital audio signal paths. The message management feature is designed to make message recording simple and address-free as well as make code development easier for playback-only applications. The ISD3900 utilizes winbond 25X/25Q series flash memory to provide non-volatile audio record/playback for a two-chip solution. Unlike other ChipCorder series, the ISD3900 provides an I²S digital audio interface, faster digital recording, higher sampling frequency, and a signal path with SNR equivalent to 12bit resolution.
The ISD3900 can take digital audio data via I²S or SPI interface. When I²S input is selected, it will replace the analog audio inputs and will support sample rates of 32, 44.1 or 48 kHz depending upon clock configuration. When SPI interface is chosen, the sample rate of the audio data sent must be one of the ISD3900 supported sample rates.
The ISD3900 has built-in analog audio inputs, analog audio line driver, and speaker driver output. The two analog audio inputs to the device are: (1) AUXIN has a fixed gain configured by SPI command, and (2) ANAIN/ANAOUT has a fixed gain amplifier with the gain set by two external resistors. ANAIN/ANAOUT can also be used as a microphone differential input (ANAIN/ANAOUT becomes MIC+/MIC-) in conjunction with an automatic gain control (AGC) circuit configured by SPI command. Analog outputs are available in three forms: (1) AUXOUT is a single-ended voltage output; (2) AUDOUT can be configured as either a single-ended voltage output or a single-ended current output; (3) BTL (bridge-tied-load) is a differential voltage output.
Standby Current: 1uA typical
Package:
Green 48L-LQFP
Temperature Options:
Industrial: -40℃ to 85℃
Operating Voltage: 2.7 - 3.6V
